About Us

Pack 416 is part of the Four Peaks district in the Grand Canyon Council. Our recruitment drive takes place in August, but we will always make a place for a scout. If you know of a scout who would like to join, please email us and one of our leaders will get in touch with you.

9/5 - 9/7 and
9/12 - 9/14 -- Scout-o-Rama Ticket Sales
locations TBA
all day

It's our first fundraiser, selling tickets to the Scout-o-Rama for the Grand Canyon Council.  All Dens will be assigned a nearby location (like a grocery store) and a time slot for selling $5.00 tickets to the Scout-o-Rama.  The ticket is attached to a page of valuable coupons, but the best part of it is the Scout-o-Rama itself.

The Scout-o-Rama is a family-friendly event.  It's a huge outdoor convention, where kids from all over the state can participate in scout activities... conducting science experiments, building rockets, making marshmallow pellet shooters, learning about history and culture, earning belt loops, doing crafts, and just having a blast.  Our pack will host a booth that the boys will run and show off their scouting skills and achievements.

Please help the pack and the Council by doing your best to sell at least 20 tickets to this event.
All boys who sell 5 tickets earn a patch for their brag vest.

Better yet... VERY COOL PRIZES are awarded to boys who sell more tickets.  Mega-prizes range from pocket knives (20 tickets) to Super Surge Water Blasters (60 tickets) to LEGO playsets (100 tickets) to AM/FM CD players (250 tickets) to iPod Nanos (500 tickets).

And be sure to attend the event as well!  It's a great time for the whole family.

Announcements

Welcome new Scouts
Thanks to all who attended our new scouts registration meeting and first pack meeting of the year.  We had lots of information to present.  Hope you all caught most of it.  If not, please contact your den leaders.  By the way, those were some nice hats, Mr. Smith!

BounceU!
Thank you to Teri Harnisch for organizing the super-fun Bounce U event, the last of our Summertime Pack events. If your son attended any of the summer events (Dogtown, Diamondbacks game, or BounceU), please be sure your leader knows about it.

Have you ever thought...

"These knuckleheads are really doing this the wrong way.  It would be so much better if they would only... "

Well, here's your big chance.  Parents, please pitch in and volunteer to help run our pack's many events.  You don't need to be a den leader (in fact, it'd be better if you weren't), it's fun to do, and you'll get lots of help from people who have run events in the past.  Plus, it's a great way to get involved with scouting, and set a great example for your scout of the virtues of volunteerism.

Here is a document with descriptions of duties, if you take on one of these positions.

Positions open:
  • Halloween at Ridgecrest organizer
  • Popcorn Kernel coordinator
  • Greenery Sales coordinator
  • Scout-o-Rama booth helper
  • Turkey bowl helper
  • Bike Olympics helper
  • Caroling at Ridgecrest helper
  • Space Derby helper
  • Fish Fry coordinator
  • Parada del Sol coordinator
  • Pinewood Derby helper
  • Scouting for Food coordinator
  • Raingutter Regatta coordinator

We need parents!
The Pack Committee runs the Pack, plans fundraisers, decides camping dates and locations, etc etc.  If you want to get involved, please consider joining the Pack Committee.  All parents are welcome!  Committee meeting dates and locations will be posted in the Events section.

"Friends of Scouting" needs help
Please consider an online donation to Friends of Scouting as a way to continue to support scouting.  It's easy, it's the right thing to do, and it's tax deductible!
