Volunteers Needed!
Step up and volunteer to join the Pack Committee. You'll learn a lot about the scouting program and make a difference in the lives of all of our scouts and families.  And your boy will learn by your good example.  Tell your den leader if you'd like to help out.  Here's what we need:
  •  Fundraising Coordinator:
Work closely with Pack Treasurer to determine funding needs for the Pack. Research and present fundraising ideas/programs to pack committee. Assist in coordinating and planning existing events including Scout o Rama ticket sales. Communicate with den leaders regarding fund raising activities, progress and participation expectations.
  • Pack Event Volunteers:
These are one-time commitments. Help out with one or more Pack events:
  • Turkey Bowling
  • Bike Olympics
  • Space Derby
  • Food Drive
Volunteer Incentive Programs

Volunteers throughout the Grand Canyon Council are visiting with their employers about volunteer incentive programs (different companies have differing names).  Mini-grants are made upon application and approval rewarding volunteerism. Contact your Human Resources department or Corporate Foundation for details.

Complete the upper portion of the VIP application form and send it to the

    Grand Canyon Council
    Director of Development
    2969 N Greenfield Rd
    Phoenix, AZ  85016

We will complete the remaining portion of the form - providing validation and forwarding the application to the company for processing.

It is important to note that due to IRS regulations matching gifts and volunteerism grants are not available to units.

Memorial Day Weekend Flag Placement and Removal
Saturday, May 25 7am and Tuesday, May 28 7am

Let's do our duty by honoring those who have done their duty for our nation and our freedoms. Join our Pack, along with other BSA Packs, Troops, Venture Crews, Girl Scouts, JROTC, and other patriots at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery (Cave Creek Road and Pinnacle Peak Road). Together we will place flags at the headstones of every grave of every serviceman and servicewoman buried at the cemetery. Arrive between 6:30 and 6:50 am in your sharpest Class A uniform to honor the vets. Look for the Pack near the main flagpole. We will be done by 8 am.

Just as important is flag removal on Tuesday morning. It is not as structured; just show up and help remove the flags. Class B T-shirts and caps are encouraged but not necessary. Stay for as long as you can; it'll be done by 8 am.

Flag placement and removal are two events that each count towards the Pack Summertime Activity pin.

Pack 416 Leaders and Parents

We have monthly committee meetings the second Wednesday at 7:00 pm. Take a look behind the scenes, and lend your voice and ideas to the Pack to make the scouting experience better for the boys. You are always welcome!

Don't forget, District holds a Roundtable meeting the first Thursday of each month. Why reinvent the wheel? Get some meeting ideas, play some games, sing a song or two, and have fun while preparing for upcoming meetings. You don't even have to be a leader to attend!
