Volunteers Needed for Spring 2012!
Step up and volunteer to join the Pack Committee. Parent leaders in these positions are eager to train you now! (as of February 2012). You'll learn a lot about the scouting program and make a difference in the lives of all of our scouts and families. And your boy will learn by your good example. Tell your den leader if you'd like to help out. Here's what we need:
- Assistant Cubmaster:
Back up the Cubmaster in running Pack Meetings. Help plan Pack meetings and events. Control the Spirit Stick to throttle up the scouting spirit!
- Advancement Coordinator:
Coordinate with Den advancement coordinators on a monthly basis to track advancement progress of the scouts. Order badges and insignia and prepare for disbursement at pack meetings. Assist pack and den leaders in encouraging scout advancement.
- Fundraising Coordinator:
Work closely with Pack Treasurer to determine funding needs for the Pack. Research and present fundraising ideas/programs to pack committee. Assist in coordinating and planning existing events including Scout o Rama ticket sales. Communicate with den leaders regarding fund raising activities, progress and participation expectations.

Congratulations to the boys and families who moved up in rank. The boys worked hard this past year, and your commitment to the program has not gone unnoticed. Good luck to our boys that have moved to Boy Scouts. They will be missed, but their replacements, our new Web 2's, are ready to step up to set an example to the rest of the boys in the Pack.

Flag Placement and Removal

Saturday May 26th at 7:00am, National Memorial Cemetary
As Cub Scouts, we promise to do our duty to our country. Let's honor those who have done their duty to our country during their lifetime and have moved on. Join Packs, Troops, Crews, Girl Scouts, JROTC, and other organizations and individuals to honor our vets during Memorial Day by placing US flags on their graves in preparation for Memorial Day. It will be very busy, so come early (recommended that you show up by 6:30 to get parking within the cemetary grounds. Look for the Pack 416 flag near the big flag. Also recommended to bring a screwdriver and maybe a mallet to create the hole to place the flags.
Tuesday, May 29th at 7:00 am
Just as important as placement is the removal of the flags. Not nearly as many show up since it is a workday, but the task still needs to be done. If you can spare half an hour or an hour, please come an help.
Both flag placement and flag removal counts as separate Pack events towards the Summertime Activity Pin.

Friends of Scouting Needs Donations!
The Boy Scouts of America is a non-profit organization, and the bulk of its funding comes from donations. Friends of Scouting's mission is to raise money which benefits the local district directly. By donating to Friends of Scouting, our donated dollars get the most bang for our buck. Let's help our district continue to provide an awesome scouting program which directly influences our boys in a positive, life-changing way. Check out FOS Flyer 2012 for more info. Any size donation would be appreciated! It directly helps our District and it's tax deductible. Please contact Steve Pomeranz to make a donation. Thank you!
